Michael Vines began playing guitar at age 12 in Memphis, Tennessee and studied under Memphis legend Miles Lazore. By the time he was 14, Michael was opening for many local and regional acts.

At age 16, Michael moved to Tulsa and was introduced to local promoter and Cain’s ballroom owner Larry Schaefer. Michael was signed under Little Wing production management and has played with and opened for acts such as B.B. King, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Ian Moore, and Johnny Winter. He guest hosted and played on the nationally syndicated radio show Smoke House Blues and won multiple guitar contests including Tulsa’s Best Guitarist 3 years in a row and Guitarmageddon in Austin, Texas.

Though Michael’s first love is blues and all genres of rock, he is also proficient in jazz and classical guitar. He has been teaching guitar and bass for over 20 years and has a proven teaching method.

Besides music, Michael loves animals and sports. He is married, has 2 dogs and has begun organizing a benefit for local rescue groups.
